Chained fields in frontend was created by padalec
Today I bought Chained fields. I enabled the plugin and quickly set up all the "chains". So far everything OK.
Than I needed the same functionality also in front-end for website users. I installed this filter for k2 ( styleware.eu/store/item/52-filter-for-k2 ), but "chains" don't work with filtering option in this plugin.
Now I found two other option to filter/search k2 items based on extra fields:
- YJ K2 Filter
and
- JoomCar K2 Filter and Search Module
joomcar.net/purchase-the-module
I need to know if one of this options will work for me. Or maybe there are other solutions.
Basically what I need is: when website visitor selects something from dropdown, the next dropdown fields are auto-populated. Both plugins offers some "field connecting" options. But I am not sure if this plugins are compatibile.
Thank you

Hello,
Unfortunately those filter are not aware of the chains created by the component.
But, I have implemented this integration with "filter for k2" before, as a custom service.
If you need this integration, we can discuss it via emails.
Thanks

Hello Pedro,
This was not a problem, it was an integration between chained fields and the other filters.
Please send more details about your problem.

Hi Mohamed,
I can create or edit a k2 item from back-end, and chained fields works fine. I select the first chained field, and the next field populates with good data. Perfect.
My problem is when someone is creating or editing a k2 item from front-end. In this case, I select the first chained field, but the second one show all options (not the options linked with field one).
In back-end it's working fine, but not in front-end.

Hi Pedro,
What you describe says there is a javascript issue on the frontend, this may be caused by the template or any extension.
It is good to use Firebug with firefox or Webdeveloper toos of Chrome to find out the problem and fix it.

Hi Pedro,
Its ok, you can buy another one, then let me check it.
If the problem is caused by chained fields, I will fix it.
If it is caused by another extension, this will be another job.
